14 Speakers

Nearly 200 participants from various, for the plastics industry important, sectors like automotive, plumbing, mechanical engineering and electronics / electrical engineering were welcomed at this year's venue in Ulm.

The enormous response reaffirmed the corporate decision to establish the POLYMER FORUM as a yearly event. Thus it is already clear that this event series will continue next year.

14 speakers addressed the subject of plastics for high-performance applications – innovations, markets, opportunities during the one-day event in the town hall in Ulm. The latest trends and product opportunities in the areas of open innovation, lightweight design, tribology, acoustics, fiber composite technology and additive manufacturing were pointed out.
Raw material producers like DSM and Sumitomo presented latest possibilities of high-temperature applications in the automotive sector. Solvay introduced their latest product developments in flame-retardant polymers. Polyplastics and the KIMW (Kunststoff-Institut für die mittelständische Wirtschaft NRW GmbH, Lüdenscheid = Plastics Institute for the small business sector North Rhine-Westphalia GmbH, Lüdenscheid) were reported on the fields of tribology and acoustics.
The topic of lightweight construction was addressed in detail by Cetex with regards to fiber composite technology and special emphasis on "thermopre" *) and two contributions by TER Plastics concerning the usage of long-fiber reinforced and partially aromatic polyamides. The event was rounded off by presentations of company HYVE about Open Innovation, the GKV / TecPart on the current economic development of the plastics processing industry and the ISK Iserlohn dealing with designing fiber-reinforced components.

The event was accompanied by a poster presentation of the lecturing companies in the foyer. Alongside the lectures the exhibited objects stimulated lively discussions and professional exchange - not only during the breaks.

Goran Brkljac, responsible organizer: "It's great that the series of events is very well accepted in the industry. Therefore, we are pleased to already announce that the next POLYMER FORUM of the TER Plastics POLYMER GROUP will take place on April 6, 2016. Motto and place will be announced early on!"
